BOOK'S DAY 2021

To comemorate Book's Day in the English class we have watched some videos about two important British writers. One of them is him, yes, SHAKESPEARE !!! and the other one is Sir Arthur CONAN DOYLE. 

One of our students in 2nd ESO , BIANCA FARIÑA,  has written this wonderful review about three books by the famous writer STEPHEN KING. 

THREE BOOKS BY STEPHEN KING  (BIANCA FARIÑA)

The long way, It and Misery are books that Stephen King wrote.

The long way, this is the less famous and shortest one. It talks about a future realty where once a year the United States’ population make a big competition called “The long way”. It consists in a race where the 100 teenagers, that participate in it, have to walk from Maine to the East coast of the United States. They can’t go less than 6.5 km/h during 30 seconds or stop, even to eat or sleep .If they do it they will get a warming. If they have 3 warnings, the police will kill them. The last survivor is the winner and he can have whatever he wants. Maybe “It” is the most famous, because it has a lot of movies. It’s longer than the others, too. It talks about a group of 7 friends that have to kill the monster that lives in Derry (the city where they live). They try it when they’re 11, but they can’t kill it at all, they just hurt it. So they meet 27 years later and they finally kill the monster. And last, but no least, Misery. It talks about a writer that is kidnapped by his number one fan, after he had a car accident. His number one fan forces him to write an alternative end for his last book, even when he has the two legs broken.

In my opinion, Misery is the most interesting; it has you in tension all the time. “It” is the longest, but it’s interesting, too. It’s more descriptive than others. And The long way is the shortest, however, for me is scarier than the others, because it doesn’t have a concrete finally.

In conclusion, if you want a short, but scary book I recommend you The long way. If you prefer a longer one the best book for you is It and if you prefer a mystery book recommend you Misery. It’s the best book that I have in my shelf.
